Shit I Like

Shit I Like, Shit I Don't Like, Shit that Intrigues Me

About

Welcome

Hello. You’ve just stumbled upon the Shit I Like blog.

This concept began as a dinner table conversation, as a few college friends began to discuss daily annoyances.

“Let’s talk about some shit I don’t like,” the conversation began.

It started out with the basics: the unpredictable weather, fellow classmates, gripes about the school’s administration. As joyous shouts of, “I don’t like that shit either!” were heard across the room, others began to join in and enthusiastically voice their opinions as well.

A new category was quickly added to balance the negativity: Shit I Like. A great way to counteract the long list of grievances! Shit I Like, or, “I like that Shit,” rapidly grew in popularity amongst the group, and was easily a common phrase in everyone’s vocabulary.

Finally, the last class came to the surface, completing the triangle: Shit that Intrigues me. Not quite Shit I Don’t Like, but topics that rather insight some thought, or perhaps just leaves the observer in visible bewilderment. With the creation of this category, the door was now open to a whole new possibility of discussion topics.

Soon, the conversations began to include subjects that required more debate: questions of philosophical principals, characters in literature or movies, ways of approaching a situation in life or simply understanding perspective.

But mostly, it was based on daily observations. And of course, it was always really funny.

Eventually, each dinner conversation started out with lists of Shit I Like, Shit I Don’t Like, and Shit that Intrigues Me, leading to endless conversation and abundant amounts of laughing.

It’s been a year since a collective discussion about Shit I Like, Shit I Don’t Like, and Shit that Intrigues Me. Therefore, two avid supporters of this system have decided to restart the conversation, urging others to look deep within themselves and categorically place the situations in their life within the three basic groups:

Shit I Like, Shit I Don’t Like, and Shit that Intrigues Me.

Enjoy.
